G2C Expands into IT and Energy Sustainability with PMCS Power

G2C has extended its advisory practice from the IT stack to the electrical infrastructure underneath it, through a partnership with PMCS Power. Clients can now have both assessed together rather than as separate projects.

G2 Connections LLC, operating as G2C, has added IT and energy consumption and sustainability transformation services to its portfolio, in collaboration with PMCS Power. The combined services became available to clients in Q1 2026.

The partnership pairs Gwyn Grafe, Founder of G2C, with Michael C. Beaton of PMCS Power. It extends G2C’s advisory work into electrical infrastructure, an area most technology assessments leave out. A client evaluating cloud migration, network consolidation or data center capacity now has the option to evaluate the power feeding that equipment in the same engagement.

What PMCS Power brings

PMCS Power’s Maximum Power Transfer Solution (MPTS) is a patented, UL-approved power management control system. It installs alongside existing infrastructure rather than replacing it, and it measures kVA, kW, kVAr, power factor and energy use across all three phases continuously. The platform processes up to 20,000 cycles per second, correcting in real time rather than sampling periodically.

PMCS reports deployments in hospitals, data centers, universities and industrial facilities, with results validated through third-party measurement and government testing. The company reports energy reductions of 10 to 30 percent in facilities losing power to harmonics, reactive energy, phase imbalance and inefficient current flow.

How the savings work, and when they do not

Power quality improvements produce different financial results depending on how a facility is billed, and this is worth understanding before any equipment is discussed.

Correcting power factor reduces current draw and kVA demand. Where a utility bills on kVA, or applies a power factor penalty below a set threshold, that reduction shows up directly on the invoice. Facilities billed purely on kWh with no penalty see a smaller effect, since the reactive component does not register on a kilowatt-hour meter. Real savings in that case come from reduced line losses, lower demand charges and longer equipment life.

The variable that determines the size of the return is the client’s rate structure and current power factor, not the technology. That is why every engagement starts with measurement of the existing electrical network and a review of the utility bill. We establish what a facility is actually losing before anyone specifies equipment, and third-party measurement verifies the result afterward.

G2C works through a network of technology providers and solution engineers, and does not manufacture or resell equipment. That structure applies to the energy services as well. The assessment determines whether a facility has a power quality problem worth addressing, and the answer is sometimes no.
